Gegründet wurde die Band 1988 in Rostock. Sie spielen guten, klassischen Deutschpunk, der an die Anfangszeiten der Toten Hosen erinnert.
Die Band an sich, ist deutschlandweit bekannt und auch beliebt. Zum Jubiläum von 25 Jahren haben 25 Bands je einen Track gecovert. Hierunter auch Größen wie In Extremo.
Die Beliebtheit der Band wurde durch die volle Halle auch eindrucksvoll bewiesen.
Waren es am Anfang, zum Auftritt der Vorband, noch wenige Menschen, füllte es sich sehr schnell in der Umbaupause.

Interessant ist zu erwähnen, dass die Band ein eigenes Label gegründet hat (Dritte Wahl Records), welches sie seit Anbeginn der Band-Geschichte begleitet. Dies allerdings teilweise unter anderem Namen.

Ein geneigter Hörer bekommt besonders sozial- und systemkritische Texte zu hören.
So nehmen sie musikalisch Stellung gegenüber der Räumung der Mainzer Straße, 1990 in Berlin. Oder auch die Ausschreitungen im Rostocker-Stadtteil Lichtenhagen sind in das musikalische Repertoire der Band übergegangen. Diese sehen sie selbstverständlich auch kritisch.
Die Lieder selbst waren mal schnell und punkig, aber auch langsam und schwermütig.

Bei dem Konzert konnte man merken, dass das Publikum der Band förmlich an den Lippen hängt und dass viele, wirkliche Fans vor Ort waren.

Ich persönlich habe die Band auf Grund einer Empfehlung einer Freundin kennengelernt.
Live macht sie was her und kann auch für geneigte Hörer empfohlen werden.

Die Dritte Wahl war für mich eine gute Wahl.
