Nun, wie soll ich das nun beschreiben? Zuerst befindet sich der Leser auf einer fremden Welt, welche nur per Raumschiff zu erreichen ist. Später dann auf einer Welt, welche vollständig phantastisch ist. Ein durchaus gelungenes Buch, das zum Verschlingen einlädt. Auch wenn dies im ersten Moment anders erscheint.

Was geschieht?

Der Raumschiff-Pilot Nathan Brazil und seine Passagiere reagieren auf ein Notruf-Signal auf einer verlassenen Welt, welche einst von Markoviern besiedelt wurden. Eine längst untergegangene Rasse von Raumfahrern, die so ziemlich alles erreicht hat, was sie erreichen konnte.
Was die Gruppe nicht weiß ist, das sich dort ein Portal befindet, welche alle auf die Sechseck-Welt transportiert.
Diese Welt liegt irgendwo jenseits des bekannten Raumes und ist in Hexagone unterteilt. In jedem dieser Hexagone herrschen unterschiedliche Umwelteinflüsse und Begebenheiten. Auch die vorherrschende Rasse ist unterschiedliche, sowie die mögliche Technik-grad. In einigen gibt es intelligente Roboter, in anderen Magie. Einige sind sogar von intelligenten Pflanzen besiedelt.
Nathan erfährt, das zwei vorher hierher verschollene etwas undenkbares wagen wollen und zur Kontrollzentrale dieses Planeten vorstoßen wollen. Darunter ist auch ein 7-facher Mörder.
Er beschließt diesen zu jagen und der gerechten Strafe zuzuführen.
Eine langer Weg steht vor ihm und seinen Begleitern.

Nebenbei erfährt man übrigens wieso die Welt in 7 Tagen geschaffen wurde und wer Gott nun wirklich ist.
Wir lesen uns um Mitternacht am Schacht der Seelen.
